Welcome to Beyond the Masc.
By accessing or participating in Beyond the Masc., including its website, programs, live sessions, digital community spaces, and all related services (collectively referred to as “the Services”), you agree to the following Terms of Service. These Terms are designed to uphold the safety, integrity, and collective intention of this space.
Please read them carefully.
1. About Beyond the Masc.
Beyond the Masc. is a transformative program and community space created for masculine-identifying individuals seeking to explore emotional vulnerability, authenticity, and freedom from societal, patriarchal, and colonial constructs of masculinity. It is a space for collective and personal unlearning.
This program is not therapy, counseling, or a substitute for clinical mental health support.
2. Who This Space Is For
To participate in Beyond the Masc., you must:

Be at least 18 years old

Identify with masculinity in some way and be open to questioning and unlearning societal expectations

Agree to engage with others respectfully, openly, and in alignment with the community agreements
Participation is voluntary, and engagement requires active involvement. This is not a passive or drop-in space.
3. Community Agreements
All participants agree to uphold the following principles to maintain a supportive and accountable space:

Confidentiality: What is shared in the group or program space—including live sessions on Google Meet and discussions on Discord—must remain confidential. No sessions or participant contributions may be recorded, shared, or distributed without explicit consent.

Respectful Conduct: Harassment, hate speech, threats, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated. Disagreement is welcomed, but disrespect is not.

Responsibility for Impact: Participants agree to take responsibility for their impact on others, even when intentions are positive.

No Extraction: The program is not to be used for academic research, content creation, or promotional purposes without written permission.

Boundaries: Participants agree to respect one another’s emotional and energetic boundaries. No unsolicited advice or diagnosing is allowed.

Not Therapy: While the space may include emotional and reflective practices, Beyond the Masc. is not therapy or a replacement for licensed mental health services.
4. Use of Website and Digital Platforms
By using the Beyond the Masc. website or any affiliated platform (including Google Meet and Discord), you agree not to:

Engage in spamming, data mining, or automated account creation

Share or post defamatory, abusive, or otherwise harmful content

Attempt to impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation

Disrupt or interfere with the experience of other users
Google Meet will be used for scheduled group sessions. Participants agree to show up respectfully in this space and are reminded that no sessions will be recorded without consent. Use of video and audio is encouraged but optional. Participants are expected to uphold group confidentiality while attending virtual meetings.
Discord will be used as a private community hub for announcements, discussion, resource sharing, and group engagement outside of scheduled sessions. Participation on Discord is optional, but respectful communication, community guidelines, and confidentiality expectations still apply in all server channels.
5. Content Ownership

Participant Content: You retain ownership of any content you create and share in the program, including in Google Meet or Discord. By sharing it, you grant Beyond the Masc. a limited, non-exclusive license to use that content within the context of the program for facilitation or educational purposes.

Program Content: All materials provided by Beyond the Masc.—including session content, written materials, exercises, and digital resources—are the intellectual property of the organization. These materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or used outside the program without written permission.
6. Privacy and Data Use
Beyond the Masc. is committed to protecting your privacy. Personal data collected through registration, program engagement, Google Meet, or Discord will only be used for internal facilitation, communication, and program delivery.
We will not sell, lease, or share your data with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.

7. Participation and Termination
We reserve the right to remove or restrict access to any participant who:

Violates these Terms or community agreements

Creates a disruptive or unsafe environment

Uses the space for exploitative, extractive, or self-promotional purposes
Participation is a privilege, not a right. Participants may withdraw from the program at any time. If you choose to leave or are removed for violating the Terms, any fees paid will not be refunded unless otherwise specified.
8. Refund Policy
If the program includes a fee, the refund policy is as follows:

A full refund may be requested within seven days of registration, provided the program has not started.

No refunds will be issued after the seven days have passed.
This policy may be updated for specific program offerings. Any changes will be clearly communicated before registration.
9. Disclaimer
Beyond the Masc. is not a clinical, therapeutic, or crisis intervention program. Facilitators are are not offering licensed mental health services.
Participants are responsible for their own emotional and psychological well-being and are encouraged to seek outside support as needed.
10. Changes to Terms
These Terms may be updated at any time. Participants will be notified of material changes. Continued participation in the program after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
