Ways of Being

  1. Confidentiality
What’s shared here stays here. This is a space for honesty and vulnerability, and trust is our foundation. We honor one another by keeping personal stories private and never sharing details outside the circle. “Take the lessons, leave the stories”

  2. “I” Statements
Speak from your own lived experience. Using “I” language keeps us rooted in authenticity and prevents projection or assumption. It allows space for every person’s truth to coexist without needing to be right.

  3. Active Listening/No Advice
Listen to understand, not to fix. Resist the urge to offer solutions or stories that shift focus. Presence is the medicine. Often what’s most healing is simply being fully witnessed.

  4. Assume good intent
Even when words land awkwardly or emotions run high. We’re all learning how to show up differently. Grace helps keep the flame alive rather than burning each other with it.

  5. Space for Silence
Silence is part of the conversation. Moments of stillness help what’s been said to settle, invite deeper reflection, and make space for the unsaid to surface.

  6. Word Soup
If words start to pile up or lose clarity, pause. Notice when conversation becomes mental clutter. Return to the heart, the breath, or the body before continuing. Not every space needs filling.

  7. Take Care of Yourself
You’re responsible for your own wellbeing here. Step out, breathe, stretch, drink water, or pass when needed. Honoring your limits supports the collective container.

  8. Step Up, Step Back
Notice your relationship to space and voice. If you tend to speak often, practice listening more. If you usually hold back, stretch into sharing. The goal is balance—so everyone’s fire has room to breathe.
