Who is Beyond the Masc. for?
This space is for masculine-identifying people who feel the tension between
who they’ve been told to be and who they truly are.

It’s for those who are done performing strength at the expense of softness,
control at the cost of connection, and certainty in place of curiosity.

If you’re hungry for spaces where you can feel more, play more,
and be witnessed in your wholesomeness, WELCOME!

about me

Erik "Joel" Pye (He/Him) is a facilitator, community builder, and lifelong question-asker who creates spaces where people can show up fully: messy, curious, emotional, and real.
As the host of Beyond the Masc., Erik invites others into conversations that explore identity, vulnerability, and the stories we’ve inherited about what it means to "be a man." He believes that freedom begins with unlearning, and that emotional honesty is a form of resistance.

Rooted in a background that weaves storytelling, ecological thinking, and social justice, Erik approaches group facilitation with both structure and softness. He’s held space in boardrooms and living rooms, on Zoom calls and river trails, always with a deep commitment to presence and play.

Outside of facilitation, Erik is often behind the scenes supporting mission-driven projects, tinkering with tech, or organizing community events that bring people together in grounded, heart-forward ways. He’s deeply influenced by anti-racist and LGBTQ+ liberation work, spiritual inquiry, and the radical act of listening.

Whether he’s guiding a group through a tough conversation or showing up with a feather and a joke, Erik’s work is rooted in care, creativity, and a belief that wholeness is not only possible, it’s necessary.

“ We don’t have to have all the answers—we just have to be brave enough to stay in the questions .” Erik Pye
